Upper St. Clair defeated Seneca Valley 110-75

Coming off a solid two weeks of long course Christmas training, the Upper St. Clair swim teams raced hard at the Big Macs Invite at Grove City College. The meet featured the teams from Canon Macmillan High School and a strong team from Seneca Valley High School. The girls split their meets, beating Canon Macmillan and losing a hard-fought battle to Seneca Valley. The boys team defeated both of their opponents.

The team did a great job supporting each other, demonstrating strong team spirit and sportsmanship. The team also competed hard. Some of the standout performances included Rachel Fibbi in the 200 free, Lilly Bernard in the 200 IM, Sophia Schlichting and Taylor Connors in the 500 free, and Claire Hsu showed a lot of grit in performing well with a sore shoulder. On the boys side some of the highlights included Reese Samuel winning the 50 free, Graham Kretschmar in the 100 butterfly, Jason Zhang winning the 100 freestyle, and freshman Andrew White earning his first WPIAL qualifying time in the 500 freestyle.

Next up for the team is a meet at Baldwin on Thursday, January 10
