Multiple Teams · USC Holds Very Successful Cross Country and Track Coaches Clinic

Many thanks to Doug Petrick, Maureen Chermak and staff for running a terrific Cross Country and Track & Field Coaches Clinic today at the high school. Today marked the first annual coaches clinic and included two outstanding presenters. It was well attended by several coaches throughout the region.

Doug Soles is a model of success at both the state and national level with his Great Oak High School Teams in California. Coach Soles is arguably one of the best High School Coaches in the country. Doug’s presentation focused on:

“What You Should Be Doing to Become a Championship Coach”

“How to Win at the Mile”

Daniel Caulfield is the head Track & Field and Cross Country Coach at California University of Pennsylvania. He is one of the most accomplished collegiate coaches around. Coach Caulfield has experience competing at a high level in both the collegiate and professional ranks.  Dan’s presentation focused on:

“External Factors Limiting Performance”

“Quality Stolen Goods”

All sessions also included a Question and Answer session!

Many thanks to Doug Petrick. Maureen Chermak, Greg Wagner and Kim Valeriano for running and organizing a great and educational event. Also, thank you to our sponsors and several USC students including: Alex Shaw, Kasey Turner, Nick Altland and Tyler Adams.

A special thank you to former USC standout athletes: Savannah Shaw (North Carolina State) and Nicole Naumann (California University) for attending today’s clinic (tradition does not graduate)!

Again, thank you to the coaching staff, boosters, sponsors and presenters for a great event!!!!!
