USC Cross Country and Track and Field Coaches Clinic
On Friday June 26, 2020 Upper St. Clair Coach Doug Petrick hosted the 2nd annual USC XC TF Coaches Clinic.  The mission of this event is to provide a professional development experience for Cross Country and Track & Field Coaches of all ability levels. This year’s format was a virtual online experience with three different presenters…
  • Coach Dennis Barker (Nova Classical Academy in St. Paul, Minnesota)-“TRAINING DISTANCE RUNNERS”
  • Coach Paul Vandersteen (Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Illinois)-“BUILDING A SUCCESSFUL DISTANCE PROGRAM: 10 POWERFUL STRATEGIES”
  • Physical Therapist Kelly Kuhn (Kelly Kuhn Physical Therapy, Pennsylvania)-“CURRENT CONCEPTS IN RUNNING INJURY PREVENTION”
The event was hosted online with the zoom platform. Each speaker presented for 70 minutes, then fielded questions from the attendees during a 25 minute Q&A session.  Over 100 attendees registered for this event from all over the United States. Coaches were in attendance from Oregon, Vermont, Florida, Texas, and many other locations outside of the tri-state area.
